About the Program

The Village of Morton passed a referendum authorizing the Village to seek lower electricity rates for eligible residential and small commercial retail customers by establishing an ‘opt-out’ electric aggregation program.

Program Details

An aggregation program agreement was entered into in 2023 by and between the Village of Morton and Energy Harbor as they were chosen as the Village’s electric supplier.  The current agreement extends through December 2025.

¹ Electricity capacity charges are the rates that users pay to secure a sufficient supply of energy on a power grid during peak hours of electrical consumption.  A capacity charge basically serves as insurance against power outages, which sometimes occur in times of high demand.

Electric Aggregation Plan of Operation & Governance
No Changes to your billing

You will continue to receive one monthly bill from Ameren Illinois.  You will still be eligible for the same programs you are eligible for now through the utility, such as Budget Billing, payment agreements, and energy efficiency programs.  The only change will be in the Electric Supply price on your Ameren Illinois bill.

Term of Enrollment

Members shall remain enrolled in the Aggregation Program until the Member exercises the right to opt-out, or they otherwise terminate their participation in the Aggregation Program.
