CDBG ED Grant #22-241003 Closeout Public Hearing October 19, 2026

PUBLIC HEARING
The Village of Morton will hold a public hearing at 6:30 pm, October 19, 2026, at Freedom Hall, 349 W. Birchwood Street, Morton, IL for the purpose of obtaining citizens’ opinions and concerns regarding the Village’s performance and the activities it undertook under a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Economic Development grant it received from the State of Illinois. The Village received a grant (#22-241003) of $600,000.00 to assist Crane Equipment & Service of Illinois, Inc./CES Building LLC to expand their manufacturing capabilities that complement their existing business operations in Eureka, IL. Specifically, the project involved Crane Equipment & Service of Illinois, Inc./CES Building LLC acquiring and renovating a 42,159 sq. ft. building for manufacturing and office use along with the purchase and installation of manufacturing equipment, as well as, activity delivery.
The grant was leveraged by non-CDBG funds in the amount of $4,598,806.06 derived from private sources. The total project cost was $5,198,806.06. The Village expended all of the above-referenced grant funds and CES expended all of the above-referenced leverage non- CDBG private funds, has completed the project and is now prepared to close out the CDBG grant and project.

Opinions regarding the Village’s performance in executing the project and the activities undertaken can be made at the hearing or by writing President Jeff Kaufman at 120 North Main Street, Morton, IL 61550.
Written comments should be submitted to President Jeff Kaufman no later than October 19, 2026, in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing’s proceedings.
