Learn more about air/sediment/discoloration in your water:
Water main work may cause sediment from the main and/or air to enter your home’s piping.
- Sediment may cause a temporary cloudiness or discoloration. Running water for a few minutes will improve your water’s clarity and also eliminate air from the lines.
Do you have low water pressure at a plumbing fixture?
- Sediment can collect in faucet aerators and showerheads causing a reduction in water pressure. Removing and cleaning the aerator will return the fixture to normal pressure.
Do you suspect usually low pressure in your WHOLE household?
- First, check all your plumbing fixtures, especially those without aerators like an outside spigot. If pressure is reduced at ALL fixtures, please contact the Village of Morton to have a water technician troubleshoot.
If you have water quality concerns, or for more information, please contact the Village of Morton by calling (309)266-5361
