Detroit Ave. Construction Update
Starting tomorrow, the Contractor will begin paving Detroit Ave. Weather pending, they will be paving Thursday, Friday & Monday. We will be closing Edgewood & Hazelwood at Detroit Ave. to minimize wait times while lanes are reduced to one-lane during paving operations. We will also be closing W. Birchwood St. from Main St. to Detroit Ave. for thru traffic only. Please use alternate routes to avoid the work zone. Detroit Ave. will remain open throughout construction and we will make sure everyone can get to and from the businesses along Detroit Ave. It is recommended that drivers avoid using the Birchwood/Detroit access to I-155 and instead use the Queenwood/Main ramps and the N. Morton Ave. Interchange to access the Interstates during this time. Please drive safely and with patience through the work zone. The flaggers are there to keep traffic moving but, more importantly, they are there to keep workers safe so that they can get home to their families.
