The Water Distribution Department of the Village of Morton consists of three field technicians under the direction of the Superintendent of Water Distribution. The Superintendent of Water Distribution is Paul Uhlman who has over 20 years of experience in the water distribution field.
The Water Distribution Department is responsible for installation, replacement and maintenance of water mains, valves, hydrants, services and facilities attributed to the delivery of water from the water towers to the customer property.
NOTE: Jurisdictional transfer of customer service line responsibility is located at the outlet side of the curb stop. The curb stop is the first valve on the service line off of the main. The curb stop remains the property of the Village of Morton.
The Superintendent of Water Distribution also acts as the Assistant Superintendent of Gas Distribution. The Water Distribution Department cross-trains with the Gas Distribution Department. This allows the two departments to work as one team during times of emergency effectively doubling the number of qualified personnel. The two departments also share building facilities, equipment and on call responsibilities.
