 All American Girl Day June 22, 2013 - Bring your favorite Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Cousins and BFF to downtown Morton where you and your dolls can enjoy a day of shopping, activities, maybe even lunch. Each participating business has an activity planned in their shop just right for lovely ladies to enjoy. If you are looking for a fabulous lunch, Maxine’s on Main is hosting a special “Teatime” from 11 to 2; reservations are required so call 263-6667. Other restaurants are offering “All American” lunches in their establishments as well.  Maps of the shops and activities will be available at the stores day of the event which runs from 10am to 3pm. School Yard Fine Arts Fair June 28 & 29, 2013 – Fine Artists from across the Midwest will bring their creations to Morton to show and sell.  Friday 5 to 8 live music, art, be a part of creating a community art piece, Kid’s Art tent, with make & take projects, and great food in downtown restaurants.  Saturday June 29th 10a-5p – live music, art for sale and display,  kid’s make & take projects, sidewalk art contest, 5x5for5 art sale, and many more activities. MCB Cycling Classic June 29, 2013   This Cycling event in Morton from 8am to 5pm takes advantage of the “hometown” feel of the village, its unique downtown course and the opportunity to add other components to the race.  In 2012 over 160 racers participated in the 11 different categories.  A celebrity bike race which consisted of local celebrities racing a 1/4 mile track on tricycles was a fun event which drew a large crowd of spectators.  The Kid’s race is open to children of all ages, racing various lengths according to age. It was a great way to introduce cycling to a new generation.  The plans for the 2013 event are underway and will include an the first annual “Schoolyard Fine Art Fair, Kid’s  art & play area, a “Heavy Equipment Experience”, and lots of great cycling.

Morton Muddy Madness for St. Jude July 13, 2013 9am-3pm  Kids from 4 to 9 years of age can run jump, and get muddy on this 9 obstacle course.  www.kidsmuddymadness.com

Morton Downtown Super Cruise July 13, 2013  4- 10pm Since 2004 the Village of Morton has been the location for 1 day Vintage Car Cruise. Over 500 cars manufactured from 1930 to 2010 converge upon the village for the 6 hour event, which draws about 1200 visitors. 1950’s music fills the streets and great “: All American” food is served in the local restaurants and by the street vendors. This year live music will be added on the Patio behind Main St. Deli.

Morton BBQ Throwdown July 26 & 27th The 3nd Annual BBQ cooking contest will be held in Downtown Morton.  We will be hosting over 5o contestants.  Again this year will be a “Backyard” contest for amateur grillers who have a great chicken or rib recipe that they would like to have judged.  Live music from Jury’s Out, Rewind, Mister Sister, and Jammsammich will be playing.  There will be crafters, kid’s play area, great food and vendors. Again this year, we will have  the “People’s Choice” tasting event which allows the public to judge the best pulled pork prepared by the contestants on Saturday at 11:30.  www.mortonbbqthrowdown.com

Morton 47th Annual Pumpkin Festival Sept. 11th- 14th, 2013 – This great celebration of everything pumpkin is held on Jefferson School Grounds in downtown Morton. You will find lots of carnival rides, special displays, and great food.  The parade on Saturday morning has over 100 entries.  Details at www.pumpkincaptial.com

 “Muscle on Main” Strongman Contest Oct. 5, 2013 has become a staple of the fall schedule in Morton. Dr. Rob Richardson and his crew continue to improve this event and draw more competitors each year. The 7th Annual Morton Strongman Contest `Muscle on Main` will be held Saturday Oct. 5th from 10:30 to 3PM. on Main Street in downtown Morton, IL. The contest consists of 6 weightlifting/strength elements.5 ATLAS STONES 200-330LBS; HUMMER TIRE DEADLIFT; YOLK 500-600 LB. FRIDGE CARRY; LOG PRESS 200-250LBS FOR REPS; FARMERS WALK 200-250LBS 200`; HARNESS PULL 22,000 LB TRUCK 80`The public is invited to view these amazing feats of strength by these dedicated athletes. Also on hand will be informational booth for better health and fitness for the entire family and great food. Spectators are free.

The 16th Annual Punkin Chuckin Contest Oct 19, 2013 Morton is host to the 2nd oldest Punkin Chuckin contest in the nation. Our event hosts 25 to 30 machines build for the sole purpose of hurling a pumpkin as far as they can. Over 8,000 people a day venture out to watch this unique sport. Morton is home to the Q36 Pumpkin Modulator, which holds the Geneses Book of Records distinction of hurling a pumpkin 4,859 ft. set in 1998. Holidazzle Celebration November 8, 2013 -4:30 to 9pm - Join the Holiday celebration with the Community Christmas Tree Lighting, a great Chili Supper, candle lit walk to the shops and Hot Cocoa  & pretzels. Shops Downtown open til 9pm.  more details at www.mortonmagnet.com

Holidazzle Open House November 9, 2013 - Morton Annual Holidazzle Event Kicks off Holiday shopping in Morton Saturday’s community wide Holiday Open house will give you a chance to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Shops open from 10am to 4 pm. Singsations will perform at 121 W. Jefferson at Noon.
